The International Confederation of Sport and Exercise Science Practice (ICSESP) was proud to once again partner with the University of Fiji to deliver the second annual Fiji Physical Activity Promotion Symposium (FPAPS).
This year’s symposium theme was ‘IT TAKES A TEAM’ highlighting the importance of collaborative practice in physical activity promotion.
Symposium Highlights:
- Inspiring keynotes and mini-presentations from students and professionals on:
- shared international collaborative practice models and practical resources to support physical activity promotion across healthcare settings.
- Physical activity opportunities for amputees
- Early research on the attitudes and preparedness of Fiji medical students who participated in the 2024 symposium regarding physical activity promotion.
On Day 2, medical, public health, and nursing students visited local villages to conduct health and wellness assessments. These field activities pave the way for the 2026 Symposium, where students will lead community-based health screenings and physical activity interventions.
