Corporate wellness can be defined as a grouping of benefits or programs provided by employers that go beyond typical medical insurance and financial benefits, aimed to improve employees’, and sometimes their families’ lives both inside and outside of work. Providing wellness programming is now considered a “must-have” rather than a “nice to have” component of benefits for retention and recruitment as employees have gained a stronger voice in demanding better work-life balance and a variety of perks to support their personal wellness. This article reviews the past, present, and future of corporate wellness.
